Yoga of movement is a form of Yoga based on the Tibetan
tradition. The lineage of the teaching of the tradition of
Yantra Yoga reaches back to the Tibetan scholar and translator Vairocana,
who lived in the 8th century, and has been continued without interruption
to Choegyal Namkhai Norbu.
Yantra Yoga connects
movement and breathing. Through the practice of Yantra Yoga
we first learn to breathe correctly. The aim of Yantra Yoga is to
reach a harmonious union of breathing and movements.
Through the process of harmonious coordination
of the outer movement of the body and the inner movement of the
breathing our energy is harmonized and strengthened. Thus one can
experience wellbeing, quietness and balance of body, speech and
mind. Yantra Yoga is also applied in Tibetan Medicine to overcome
illness or mental hindrances.
Yantra Yoga can be practiced and applied
by all people
interested in it.
